Don Stine Track at Cambridge 4/8/19

March 21, 2019

Don Stine Invitational Track and Field Meet

SITE: Cambridge

WHEN: Monday, April 8th, 2019

Field Events 1:00 CT, Running Events 3:15 CT (approximately)

Schools Participating: Arapahoe, Broken Bow, Cambridge, Chase County, Dundy County-Stratton, Lexington JV, Maxwell, McCook JV, North Platte JV, Ogallala, Southern Valley, Southwest, and Wauneta-Palisade.

Due to the fact that this is a Monday afternoon meet (and we all want to get home at a reasonable time), we will not have prelims in the running or field events.  For field events, athletes will get 4 attempts and all running events will be run against time. The schedule of events has been attached.

There will be a weight men’s relay. It is a non-scoring event but will count toward an athlete’s four event limit. Please try to stick to throwers only but may fill with athletes of comparable speed.

UNIFORMS: Weather permitting, the track uniform rule will be enforced.  The rule states, "The track and field uniform consist of a school issued jersey and shorts, which are not objectionable, and shoes, which may be supplied by the contestant.  Any other visible apparel must be of a single color and worn under the uniform jersey and shorts."

AWARDS: Six place medals in all events and relays. There will be a team plaque for both the girls' and boys' divisions.  An Overall Championship plaque will be given to the school whose boys and girls combined score is the greatest. A traveling plaque honoring Don Stine will be presented to the boy and girl winner in the 1600-meter run. Please plan to bring the 1600 Meter Plaque back next year if one of your athletes wins!

FIELD EVENTS: Athletes will be placed in flights, with the best competitors in the last flight.  Each flight will have the best performance last as there will not be finals. Each competitor will get 4 attempts.

TIMING: We will be using fully automated timing for this meet.  A complete handout of times will be given out after the meet.

QUALIFYING: Athletes will be placed in heats with the normal placement working out from the middle lanes.  There will be no prelims, placement will be by time, and we’ll run the slow heats first.

ADMISSIONS: Adults--$4:00, Students $3.00.  Spectators may enter from the east side or west side of the track.
